Maurizio loves taking long walks in nature, he’s in love with California, music, cinema, and design.

He loves exploring new cities aimlessly and getting lost on mountain roads, in the desert and in the woods.

We had a chance to do a quick interview with Maurizio to learn more about him, his culture, and what makes him tick.

Who is influencing your photography these days?

I’m really enjoying the work of Nirav Patel, I love how he manages the light and his portraits are so intense. Sometimes I simply get lost on his Instagram account.

Then, I’m really lucky because now I can find some his best work here on Kolla (thank you guys, Christmas is coming).

Describe the last photograph you printed and hung.

My last print was a photo that I’ve done in Venice Beach of a cyan house with a red old classic car parked inside. I’m in love with every kind of house and classic car so so it’s a must on a wall in my studio.

What is one thing you're obsessed with right now?

Colours. I’m always in search of how to render the best colours in a picture. Every time I stop in front of my computer I can't avoid to work on my own edition presets, I’m really obsessed about this right now.

But I also need to talk about Hawaiian music. Have you ever tried to work with instrumental Hawaiian music on background? It’s so relaxing.
